To believers, Nepal's child goddesses or Kumaris can bestow luck with a glance. But when these children grow up, returning to normal life is virtually impossible.
Girls selected as Kumaris must be aged between two and four and satisfy all the conditions of '32 perfections'. For a few short years, "all Nepalese people worship them" states one woman. But as soon as they experience their first menstruation, they lose their goddess status.

How do you know that I am ignorant of Hinduism or Buddhism? I was born and brought up in a Hindu family.
To answer your second question: By "fucking Hinduism", I mean recognizing that at its core it has no rational or empirical basis. Once you allow irrationality at the core, any amount of irrationality and cruelty can be justified like satee, the caste system, or the child abuse portrayed here. Buddhism has some empirical roots and I fail to see how this Kumari thing is a Buddhist tradition.

Because I think the natural growth of an individual with a healthy childhood is much more important than preserving a religion.
That is why I said: Fuck Hinduism. Fuck Buddhism. Fuck Christianity, Islam, Judaism... all of that pre-medieval nonsense. Save the girl. Help her enjoy a natural childhood with other children, give her good education and let her mind blossom into its full potential without the shackles of ritual and religion.

The world is now melting together. You're right that people across the world have their peculiar traditions, and some of them seem cruel and barbaric if you're not in that culture. With cultures melting, all these peculiar traditions are coming under criticism, and it is a positive thing, because we can help each other see our own shortcomings in ways we cannot see if we are already within the system.

I understand your position, that has been stated many times in this thread. What I do not understand is why you feel the need to be so vulgar and offensive in stating your position. Instead of making a viable argument and giving people a chance to agree or disagree, people are automatically put off or so to speak because of your speech. Iam from Nepal and i have even talked to her.She is happy with it and that doesent mean she has to spend her whole life in her four walls.She is allowed to go school, and live with normal people. its just till her puberty.

A religion that believes in djinns, angels, a personal god is a very logical religion? There is no scientific evidence for them any more than we have scientific evidence for fairies and leprechauns. Islam is one of the three Abrahamic religions and they are the most shallow, irrational and cruel religions in the world. Read your Koran.
