You can download the ACTUAL roms for the ACTUAL arcade version of MKII (and III etc.) on various sites thru-out cyberspace! And of course they are of the upmost highest quality...they ARE the legit roms so the resemblance and gameplay is totally authentic compared to the REAL arcade game!
The only DOWNSIDE is getting the damn thing to function BUT...once all that is taken care of it's smooth sailing. (I'd recommend purchasing a joystick too)

I think the SNES and modway arcasde treasures extended play for the psp was the best becuase for the psp they fixed the puase button for the game over screen PLUS its portable PLUS it has MK MK2 MK3

The snes version had better graphics and sound, but the genesis version had better gameplay IMO.
And yes, I DO own both versions of the game.

your the best dude. but what about midway arcade theasures 1 for psp has mk1 mk2 mk3.you may not have psp right/ cost $10 now but still good. hey
can any1 tell me the name of a good old school fighting game for psp. i like mk. Killer Instinct. street figter and so on. if some1 know in what collection they are plz

that is one badass tat. I love Mortal Kombat, but don't think i have the balls to get that done. UMK3 is still the best though. Great review, SNES was my fav port too back in the day, I was sooo f'in pumped when it came out. Wish I had a PS3 to play this port, but oh well. Keep doin ur thing man. Peace...

I love how this guy intentionally loses on the genesis version just because he thinks it was a crappier version. I think this version was the better version. It had better music, sound and feel to it. But that's my opinion, and I'm right :)

Your entitled to your opinion, but honestly there was nothing better about it except the ability to use a 6 button controller layout. The sound was tinny and the background music didn't even resemble the arcade version in the least!

Your Right It Was Horrible I Like The Arcade Version The Most It Was Amazing Rather Its Was the ps3 download, a rom for mame, midway arcade treasures 2 or just the plain ol' machine nothing beats it best mk ever to me

I have one doubt I have the mortal kombat 2 for super nintendo... I found it yesterday and decide to play it and damnn I think this game is hard now :S
back then when I first played I was like 7 or 8 I guess and Inever pass the 4 or 5th opponent but now I get to the 8 or 9 ...But I still found it hard ...and the doubt was that my in my game at the beggining I cant see that liu kang thing
