Amazing!
Kind of like the Elephant Man.
it's kinda hard to explain this huge catholic tradition in under 500 characters lol, sorry if it sounds lame :D
??? Why do you assume that?
"God chose her to be the mother of His Son"
Okay... but she didn't do anything except feed him and learn from him. She's also incompetent. She ditched him and didn't notice for two days. Lousy parenting.
"Jesus gave her to us to be our mother"
Provide the quote, because I don't think you were mentioned. I think Jesus said this to just one specific person, rather than to an entire crowd.
What makes you think Cana was the start? And the disciples were at the wedding too, so pretty moot point.
- the immaculate conception is a catholic doctrine
- um lousy parenting? I'm not sure if you're Christian or not... why would you dislike Mary?
- he said it to John, yes, but not everything in the bible is literal
- Mary was the one who asked Jesus to help them when they ran out of wine. it's his first miracle.
I don't really care if you don't like Mary or not, I'm sorry for starting an argument ^^;
What does Catholic doctrine have to do with the Bible or reality? Doctrines come and go. I remember limbo being one that was renounced.
What reason do you have for thinking Jesus was speaking to numerous people?
And again, I ask how do you know Cana was his first miracle? Is there a passage where Jesus says: "This is my first miracle."?
-what reason do you believe he wasn't? how do you know if something is literal or not? what about the last supper?
I thought it meant my time has not yet come to perform a public miracle (start his ministry on a wide scale).
what makes you dislike mary? God's angel said to her, "Hail, mary, full of grace, the lord is with you."
The Last Supper is obvious. If Jesus says: "This bread is my flesh", and the disciples don't start screaming in panic and fear because Jesus has revealed himself as some sort of gingerbread man, then it's obviously figurative. There's no possibility of it being literal.
Okay... but if he meant it's not time for him to start, but then he went ahead and started, then he apparently disagrees with himself and thinks it is time to start.
I never said I didn't like her. I merely asked why you like her "a lot".
why not like her a lot? I like the apostles a lot too.
some disciples DID start panicking and leaving when he said something similar. and he just let them go. john 6:52- and on
best line in the movie.
