Daily Show Mocks Gay Marriage Ban or Chickens?

Uploaded by: LiberalViewer
Video Description:
When California voters passed Prop 8 eliminating the right of same sex couples to get married last week, it led to an immediate legal challenge from the ACLU of Northern California and some ironic commentary from Jon Stewart on the Daily Show, both of which I discuss in this video.
You can find the entire Daily Show segment from which I took a short clip for my video at http://www.thedailyshow.com/video/index.jhtml?videoId=209418 &title=decision-2008-garygary-unmarried
You can find the entire speech James Madison gave when he proposed the amendments that became the Bill of Rights at http://www.jmu.edu/madison/center/main_pages/madison_archives/constit_confed/rights/jmproposal/jmspeech.htm
The picture labeled as being of James Madison (which is actually James Monroe) is a Flickr photo available under a creative commons license as indictated on the page with the photo at http://www.flickr.com/photos/bootbearwdc/317430199/sizes/o/#cc_license
In compliance with that creative commons license, this video may be distributed in accordance with the creative commons license described at http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/2.0/
And, finally, you can read the full text of the legal challenge to the recently passed California Constitutional amendment eliminating the right of same sex couples to get married at http://www.aclunc.org/news/press_releases/asset_upload_file824_7748.pdf

Guess what, fuckup? ... ( 3 days ago by Xerock)
Guess what, fuckup? An unborn fetus is not a human being, any way you slice it (and we do).
Your soul doesn't exist. Your god doesn't exist. You have no chance at an afterlife.
I hope you feel better about yourself, now.
Funny how God had ... ( 3 days ago by VoiceOfModeration)
Funny how God had to come into it. Christopher Hitchens, Nat Hentoff and James Matthew Wallace are all atheists...and all pro-life. Whether or not God existed, abortion is still murder. I have a gay and agnostic friend who did his undergrad in molecular biology and specialized in embryology. For the last 20 years, life beginning at conception has been a fact. I never said Im against gay marriage, only that it morally degrades any left-wing argument once they say they support baby death.

thank you. you, Jon Stewart and governor Bob Casey are so far the only liberals who Ill listen too if you ever want to give an argument for any political issue.
Abortion is not ... ( 3 days ago by Xerock)
Abortion is not murder. Human life begins with human sperm and eggs. Both alive by scientific standard and no less "human" than a fertilized embryo.
You can have thousands of gay or atheists friends and that still doesn't matter. For the last 20 years, you trashbags have been repeating it to yourselves and still isn't valid.
You should be immolated along with the rest of the trash.

Yes there is.The more male offspring a woman has increases the chance of the next one being gay. There is a difference in the size of the suprachiasmatic nucleus between homo & hetero men.The size of the INAH3 in the homo male brains was similar to that in the hetero female brains. There are the twin studies.Sexuality has to be genetic for the species to get motivated to reproduce, its instinct.Homosexuality occurs even in the animal world.Over all, you're just appealing to nature, a fallacy.
Murder is a legal ... ( 3 days ago by kiwisunshine5233)
Murder is a legal term to define the illegal killing of a person usually with malice. Abortion isn't murder since abortion is legal, its not killing a person, & its justified by a woman's right to her body & security of person.
All human behavoir ... ( 3 days ago by kiwisunshine5233)
All human behavoir is natural, no matter if its a choice or by nurture. The only way for human behavoir to be unnatural would be to use man made things to force this behavoir like drugs or a SciFi mind control device.
Killing & rape are natural human behavoirs, does that justify them? No. Computers are not natural, does that mean that it isn't a right for blacks to own them while it is allowed for white people?
Natural rights are ... ( 3 days ago by kiwisunshine5233)
Natural rights are philosophical ethical rights based on reason, you're misunderstanding & using the word natural in two different contexts. Rick Warren's are fallicious & appeal to nature, thus moot.
Your natural right ... ( 3 days ago by kiwisunshine5233)
Your natural right to something doesn't require what you do to be natural.

I'm liberal and I don't support abortion.
I would have only supported an abortion if it was you being aborted.
Apartheid was legal ... ( 3 days ago by VoiceOfModeration)
Apartheid was legal for a time.
And its not her body. Its a separate human person INSIDE her body. Not comparable to hair on her head or a toe. We all know this. Which is why we all get shocked and upset when we see a pregnant woman drinking or smoking. (When people say this "women can do whatever they choose with their body" it makes me wonder, are you people talking about masturbation? you're talking about abortion? okay, but thats not her body.)
Well, no one ... ( 3 days ago by VoiceOfModeration)
Well, no one supports abortion. Let me guess, "you dont condone it but women need it" or some other form of sharptonism? or are you actually liberal and pro-life?
Well, I know this ... ( 3 days ago by VoiceOfModeration)
Well, I know this is gonna be impossible because you've already admitted that you dont care about what the facts are. If you really dont know the difference between a sperm and a human fetus, than I have a high school biology text book you can borrow. the sperm and the egg dont have 46 chromosones or a unique genomic character. But at the moment of conception with both egg and sperm fuse that's exactly what there is which is why life begins at conception. And calling me trash? not an argument
No I care about ... ( 3 days ago by Xerock)
No I care about facts. You simply don't know what facts are, trash. Pretending that an embryo is more alive than human sperm and human eggs is not a fact.
Neither the number of chromosomes nor the "uniqueness" of the genomic character have anything to do with whether something is alive. All the unique genomic character is that any other sperm carried in the man's money shot can make something equally unique and every other sperm that dies in the process of fertilization is another abortion.

So glad I live in Canada. We have gay marriage and the world has not ended. Yes, I know, America is the last bastion of morality on the planet. Now go buy some health insurance.

Ya we are the moral leaders of the world! Sometimes I think we are more primitive than 3rd world countries. Oh ya people in california have sex with chickens. That is why they need their legs to spread apart better.

A fetus is not a ... ( 2 days ago by kiwisunshine5233)
A fetus is not a human person, not even in law. Even if it was a person, a woman has the right to get rid of a person using & living in her body. A fetus doesn't own the woman's body & doesn't override her rights. It has no right to stay in there & steal her nutrients against her will.
Ppl are shocked by a pregnant drinking/smoking woman because she plans to give birth & create a person which will have permanent health problems. I'm not shocked if she's trying to induce a miscarriage.

black people werent considered people in the law for a long time either. ever hear of slavery? and about the last parts, thank you for clearing that up. the debate isn't about science, it's about selfishness. thank you for admitting it
Black people are ... ( 2 days ago by kiwisunshine5233)
Black people are conscious, have personalities, emotions, minds, thoughts, are physically independent & are not physically dependent upon & literally paracitic upon a woman. Fetii being considered people just degrades what it means to be human, they're only potential people.
Admitting what? Selfishness has nothing to do with anything & just about everything we do is selfish.

As far as I can tell, it all has to do with fear of change and, yes, the majorities power. Giving chickens more leg room doesn't affect us much beyond paying a little extra for some meat at the store, but gay marriage tends to scare people a lot more. We will have gay marriage, it's only a matter of time, but parts of various religions and a lot of the older generation do not like this idea of same sex marriage because it goes against what they learned growing up and that's what's stopping it.
