Hungarian Ugros and Csárdás Folk Music
Uploaded by: WindsOfCreation
Video Description:
I found this merry little ensemble playing a seemingly endless medley while at the Budapest Folk Arts festival in Hungary.
The first few songs of the medley are Ugros (jumping dance) melodies, followed by some Csárdás songs. The instruments appear to be (from left to right):
- Koboz (a lute like instrument)
- Duda (Hungarian Bagpipe type instrument)
- Tekerő Lant (A Hungarian variant of the Hurdy Gurdy)
Many thanks to Radiodelevine, Profkaren and Konyvtar for their helpful information. Enjoy!

Nem értek hozzá túlságosan, de a Dunántúlon sok olyan dallam maradt meg, ami rokonságot mutat az ótörök nótákkal, úgyhogy hilarymurat nem beszél éppen bolondságot...
The first origins from Inner Asia and Far East Asia. This is the quint shift pentaton music. This music is the earlier.
The new stile music origins from the Europian music system.
Béla Bartók and Zoltán Kodály discovered this fact.
Old Hungary was 300 000 km2, this time Hungary is 93000 km2. So 2/3 of Hungary in the XVI and XVII century belonged to the Western civilization, against to Balkan!!
